  • Houston Astros
    A major league baseball team, Houston Astros is based in Houston, Texas.  The team currently is the member of the Central Division of the National League. The team was founded in 1962. The team was founded as Houston Colt .45s in 1992 but later on in 1965 it was renamed as Houston Astros.

    The Astros played their first MLB game on April 10, 1962, defeating the Chicago Cubs 11-2. In 1986, the Houston Astros are on the verge of a World Series trip but however they lose to the New York Mets in the NL Championship. The 1990s proved to be the most successful season with players such as Jeff Bagwell and Craig Biggio. During 90s the team won three central division titles and the fourth one in 2001.

    The Astros have also won one NL Pennant, two West Division titles and two Wild Card Berths. In 2001, the Astros were Co-National Central Champions with the St. Louis Cardinals. In 2005, the Astros made the playoffs. In 2006, the Astros won 10 games of the season. Same year in the month of November the Astros signed outfielder Carlos Lee to a 6-year contract for $100 million. They also signed pitcher Woody Williams.

  • Houston Aeros
    A hockey team, Houston Aeros is based in Houston, Texas. The team plays in the American Hockey League (AHL). The team was founded in 1994 in the International Hockey League (IHL) and plays home games at the Toyota Center. In 1999, the Houston Aeros won the International Hockey Leagues’ Turner Cup.

    In 2001, the team joined the AHL after the International Hockey League folded. During 2002-03 regular season the team won the Calder Cup and same year the team also won the Conference Championship. Rob Daum is the current head coach of the team. The team wears uniforms of colors: green and red. The Aeros are the affiliate team of National Hockey League's Minnesota Wild.

  • Houston Texans
    A professional American football team, Houston Texans is based in Houston Texas. In Texas, football is king. The Texans was founded in 2002 and is currently a member of the Southern Division of the American Football Conference (AFC) in the National Football League (NFL). Reliant Stadium is the home of the Houston Texans. Gary Kubiak is the current head coach of the Houston Texans.

    The team played their first game against the Dallas Cowboys at Reliant Stadium and also recognized as the second expansion team ever to win their first game. Same year the Texans defeated the New York Giants in Houston and the Steelers in Pittsburgh.

    In 2003, the Texans defeated the heavily favored Dolphins in Miami. No other expansion team had ever won their first two opening games before. The team drafted Dunta Robinson and Jason Babin in 2003. In 2004, the Houston Texans have emerged as a legitimate playoff contender.

    In 2005, after finishing 2-14 the Texans fired Dom Capers. The Texans finished with 6 wins in 2006. In 2007, the team look to lasso opponents with superstar David Carr and Andre Johnson setting the pace for a wrangle in the AFC South. The team wears uniforms of colors: Deep Steel Blue, Battle Red, and Liberty White.

  • Houston Rockets
    A professional basketball team, Houston Rockets is based in Houston, Texas. Toyota Center is the home of the Houston Rockets. The team was established in 1967. The Rockets are currently the member of Southwest Division of Western Conference in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Jeff Van Gundy is the current head coach of the Houston Rockets.

    With their first draft pick the team drafted Pat Riley and finish the season with 67-loss. The Rockets went 47-35 in 1978-79. In 1992-93, the Rockets won 55 games. During 1993-94 season, the Rockets defeated the New York Knicks in seven games and thus win the championships. Since their foundation the Rockets have won two championships, four Conference Titles and four Division Titles.

    In 2001, the team made a record of 45-37 but still did not make the playoffs. The Rockets earned their first playoff berth with a 2003-04 regular season record of 45-37. The team finished 2005-06 season with a 34-48 record. In the 2006-07 NBA season, the Rockets are currently 35-20. The team wears uniforms of colors: Red, White, and Silver.
